The Path of Healing and Awakening: A Journey Back to Myself

Aloha,

I’m Dayna.

For years, I believed healing was about fixing myself and others—erasing the pain, clearing the patterns, and finally feeling free. I turned to spirituality, hoping it would give me an edge, a way to find all the answers. And for a while, it seemed to help. But no matter how much I tried to stay in a more enlightened or blissful state—or simply remain present—my struggles always found their way back in.

It wasn’t until I began to truly notice, at the most subtle and deep level, how I had been trying to escape, that things started to shift. I had spiritually tried to meditate my problems away. rationalized my behavior, and unknowingly, still sought control over everything, just using spirituality, as a means. I chased after an image of who I thought I should be—someone extraordinary, or at least worthy of love. When that didn’t work, I swung to the other extreme, trying to work through every sensation in my body, as if that alone would heal me. But then I realized something important: healing takes an integrative approach.

I got caught up in believing that focusing on the body, emotions, or the nervous system, creating safety for myself, managing energy and eating healthy, were the only pieces of the puzzle. But the truth is, healing requires us to get out of our mind and into our heart—while it’s also about meeting ourselves exactly where we are, recognizing and tending to core beliefs, inner boundaries, values and needs—not just physical sensations. It’s about learning to get real with yourself in areas you may have been avoiding or not even aware of. Such as where you may not be truly honest with yourself, not capable of feeling the subtle layers and aspects of yourself in the shadows of experiences, at times unable to recognize when you’re psychically or emotionally meshed in a constillated state of implicit memory or confusion, as well as, not recognize when internal boundaries are not respected or personal needs not valued.

Sometimes, we need someone else to help us see what we’re caught in. There are moments when we’re so deeply entangled in our own patterns that we can’t even recognize them. That’s when the right person can gently point things out, or ask the questions that invite us to see things in a new light. It’s not about fixing us, but about guiding us to trust our own inner knowing.

Deep healing and growth can feel challenging, messy and confusing. Sometimes it feels like we’re doing everything we can, yet still getting nowhere. We try so hard to get it right, but often end up feeling more stuck than before. It’s easy to get caught up in the striving, in the effort to make things happen, without realizing that the tighter we grip, the harder it is for things to flow. The frustration can feel overwhelming—it seems like no matter what we do, we’re up against a wall, unable to move forward.

And yet, that frustration can be a sign of deeper growth. It’s in those moments of resistance that the most transformative shifts can happen. Not by pushing harder, but by learning to be with the frustration—to recognize it without judging it. It’s about creating space to allow things to unfold, trusting that they will.

For a long time, I followed what I thought was the “right” path—measuring my progress, comparing my healing, and grading myself on how far I had come. But I’ve come to understand that healing isn’t about meeting some external standard. It’s about honoring your own timing, trusting your process, and even laughing at yourself when you see old patterns creeping back in—not from judgment, but from understanding and compassion.

And when things get tough—when the urge to control is overwhelming, when you feel like you’re pacing and holding your breath—I remind myself that it’s just another invitation to soften, to slow down, and to stay present with what’s here. Because the more I try to control things, the more I get in my own way. Ironically, when I let go of that tight grip, things often move much more quickly. Letting go and allowing life to unfold naturally can be the key to unlocking transformation.

This process has allowed me to feel more at ease with just being myself—even when it’s uncomfortable. And it’s allowed others to be more themselves around me. (Though I’m still working on that too.) But now, I approach it from a more playful, curious place, rather than out of a sense of “should.” Life can move at warp speed or drag like molasses, and I’m learning to be okay with both. I’m not in control of how things unfold. And yet, the more I surrender to the flow of life, the more things seem to come together.

So, who am I to judge? Rather, I have the intuitive ability of being able to detect when someone is lying to themselves or missing something subtle that becomes the portal into deeper truth, love and connection for them. Sometimes, people just need a gentle nudge to soften, to be with something so it can move through and take them to the deeper layers of themselves. This isn’t about me trying to get you to a certain place. It’s about being with and tending to what’s present, and asking for permission when I notice something—just to pause and invite curiosity about what might need more attention.

This is where the work begins—not from a place of trying to fix or get rid of things, but from a place of genuine curiosity. What’s showing up is consciousness, a part of who you are, that’s either unrecognized or misunderstood, and it wants to show you something. First it needs to feel safe enough to be seen and accepted as it is, before it can open up and share or move through you. And that’s where the healing magic begins.

This is the space I hold for others—not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who understands the path and implicitly trusts the innate (divine) intelligence within the field of consciousness, in which I work with you in. I’ve learned how to walk with trauma and how to create space for real healing. For some of us, healing isn’t separate from awakening—it is the path. Our wounds and challenges are gateways to knowing ourselves more deeply. It’s not about mastering anything—it’s about softening and letting go of the need to control. In that softening, we finally catch up with the part of ourselves that’s been calling us home all along.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to explore this work with me. Because healing isn’t about fixing—it’s about becoming more you.
